ISO Drums

Drop in a drum recording. Walk away with five clean stems and a MIDI file — no cloud, no account, no waiting.

Free during open beta  ·  No account required  ·  macOS Apple Silicon

Separated Stems drum_take_03.wav  ·  118 BPM

Three steps. One window.

No routing, no setup, no plugins to configure. The whole workflow lives in one place.

Drop your drums
Drag a stereo drum recording into the app or use the file picker. WAV, AIFF, FLAC, or MP3. Recorded live, sampled, or programmed — if there are drums in it, it works.
No format conversion  ·  Drag and drop supported
Five stems, separated
Five neural networks run locally and isolate kick, snare, toms, hi-hat, and cymbals into clean individual stems. No cloud. No queues. No uploading your unreleased music to a server.
U-Net architecture  ·  Apple Silicon optimized  ·  Fully offline
Export stems + MIDI
Drag any stem directly from the app into your DAW track. Export MIDI with every hit detected, velocity intact, tempo auto-detected from the drums themselves. Five tracks, ready to use.
Type 1 MIDI  ·  Channel 10  ·  GM drum mapping  ·  Auto BPM

Every voice, separated.

Each drum voice gets its own neural model, its own audio stem, and its own MIDI track. Color-coded across the app and every export.

Built for the session.

Every decision was made around one question: what actually slows you down?

Neural stem separation
Five dedicated U-Net models, each trained on a specific drum voice. The kick doesn't bleed into the snare because they're not sharing a model.
Per-stem hit detection
DSP onset detection runs on each separated stem individually. You get accurate timing and velocity per voice — not a guess about where a hit landed.
Drag to DAW
Grab any stem waveform and drag it directly onto a track in Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools, or Reaper. No save-to-folder, no navigate-and-import. Matches how you actually work.
Auto BPM detection
Tempo is estimated directly from your drum hits after separation. The MIDI file exports with the correct BPM baked in — no manual entry, no alignment guesswork in your DAW.
Fully offline
No cloud uploads, no server queues, no API keys, no subscription. Your recordings stay on your drive. Fast because it's local — not because we made you wait.
Standalone + AU + VST3
One download includes the standalone app, an Audio Unit, and a VST3 plugin. Use it outside your DAW for speed, inside for project integration. Same tool, both places.

Tools built by producers, for producers.

Plait is a small audio software company focused on one thing: finding the problems in music production that nobody has solved yet, and building clean, practical tools for them.

Most plugin companies are chasing the same tones. We're more interested in the stuff that slows you down before you even get to the creative part — the friction you've learned to live with. That's where we work.

ISO Drums is the first tool. There's more coming.

Made Right.
No half-finished products. If it ships, it's solid. Every tool is intentional, built carefully, and does exactly what it says it does.
Fair.
The industry takes more than it gives. Plait won't be part of that. One price, no subscriptions, no upsells, no gotchas.
Accessible.
Whether you just opened a DAW for the first time or you've been producing for twenty years, the tools work for you. No gatekeeping, no pandering.

Nothing should stand between a creator
and the thing they're trying to make.
